A ROMANTIC CORNER
An antique writing desk
In the history of antique furniture, secretaires and writing bureaus are among the most fascinating and rich in history as well as artistic detail. Both practical and elegant, they were very popular throughout the ages and are still in great demand today, both as antiques and in their more modern versions. They have a definite place in contemporary decor as an alternative to the more common desk, and are the ideal pieces with which to create a romantic corner in a room to relax in with a good book or write a letter by candlelight.
